My skin has been on the dehydrated side as of late. So, I’ve developed and need-base obsession for serums. If you think you only need a moisturizer to hydrate your skin, think again. I’ll share with you how beneficial serums are to your skincare routine. But first, let me tell you about my recent introduction to Beauty Counter Initially I had reservations to learn more about their products.
I didn’t want to hear the typical MLM sales pitch. However, after accepting an invite to meet with a consultant to learn more about the brand I realized they had a mission. The mission is to advocate and promote the use of safer products which starts from the selection of safer ingredients. This is something that I need and love to hear from brands in the clean, green beauty and wellness industry. I got a few samples to try and fell in love with the Rejuvenation Radiance Serum.
In life we go through stages and so does our skin. As you begin to age the hydration levels start to decrease in the body. Drinking water and eating foods with high water content is a great way to increase hydration; in addition, using a hydrating skincare product is a must-have. Serums have a lipid-soluble base. This allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin, rather than it sitting on top. This helps the product to act in accordance to it’s purpose – target specific to hydrate, tone, reduce wrinkles, and brighten.
Serums are not necessarily moisturizers. They are to be used in conjunction with a moisturizer. The primary function is to boost hydration in the skin. There are different types of serums that are formulated with ingredients to address various skin concerns: Vit C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, and AHA (alpha hydroxy acid). As mentioned earlier, serums help to boost hydration in the skin. On the other hand, target specific serums provide additional benefits that range from improving the elasticity of the skin, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidants, and exfoliation. Essentially, the serum should be used after your toner and before your moisturizer.
The Rejuvenating Radiance Serum formulated with “omega-rich natural oils and vitamin rich fruit extracts helps to “even skin tone, increase firmness, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores”.
Clinical result show that 72% of women showed significant increase in skin firmness after eight weeks of use. 52% showed significant improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of the neck area after 8 weeks of use. Isn’t that a little convincing how well serums work? Not to mention, Beauty Counter?
In addition, their ingredients are listed on the EWG’s Skin Deep Database where you can see how safe the ingredients are to make an education decision whether or not to buy. The brand is committed to health and safety so much that they’e banned the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through our Never List. If you need more information about the product, you can send me an email. I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Especially, now that I’m a beauty ambassador for Beauty Counter.
