Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask, $48, available here
Goodbye winter blues hello to beautiful skin with a resurfacing clarity mask. Clarifying treatments in skincare, especially in your mask treatments, is meant to deep cleanse removing debris and dullness; furthermore, brightening the skin. We are on our way with the transition into another season; so that means it’s time to prep and boost your skin’s hydration levels for this change. Here’s how to welcome spring with Herbivore Resurfacing Clarity Mask.
One of the steps I love in my skincare routine is “masking” Saying I indulge in mask treatments, is an understatement. I recently began using this Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask that I received from an event at Credo Beauty. The recommended use for a mask in your skincare routine is usually twice a week. However, I’ve been including it in my routine at least 3 times a week because my skin has been on the dehydrated side lately, I promise it’s ok to do this! Also, it depends on the type of mask that you use as well throughout the week reflective of your skin concerns. This Herbivore mask has natural AHA (derived from fruit enzymes) and BHA (derived from white willow bark) that gently exfoliates my skin leaving it smooth and soft without that taut feeling afterwards. Though, it felt a little tingly on my skin upon application it was extremely soothing from the blue tansy oil. It’s such a unique ingredient that is rich in colour really helped to calm and reduce my blemishes. This is definitely a go-to mask to usher in spring with a fresh face. The fact that it exfoliates and resurfaces the skin, it will help to give you a finished look with other products that you use on your skin. Get you one.
Aloe Leaf: Helps to unclog pores, leaving a smooth complexion.
White Willow Bark Extract: A BHA high in salicylic acid which helps to unclog pores.
Fruit Enzymes: From Papaya and Pineapple, a natural AHA helps to gently exfoliate the skin eliminating dead skin cells leaving your skin smooth.
Blue Tansy Oil: High in azulene, hence the color, which helps to reduce redness and calm irritated skin.
Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice, Hydroxyethyl Ethylcellulose (Plant Derived), Glycerin, Glyceryl Caprylate, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Tanacetum Annuum (Blue Tansy) Flower Oil, Jasminum Sambac (Jasmine) Flower Water, Ananas Sativus (Organic Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Organic Papaya) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Organic Papaya) Leaf Extract, Leucidal (Radish Root Ferment).
This is great for exfoliating/resurfacing while hydrating the skin. It helps to treat acne and unclog pores. Just apply a thin layer to your face, leaving it on for 10-15 mins. If you feel you need more time 20 mins should be the max.
While applying your mask you can massage it into the skin with a jade roller. It helps to increase circulation, toning of the skin, and potentially pushing the product deeper into the skin, if you exfoliate beforehand. Depending on the mask, you may also use a facial steamer after application. *Not recommended with AHA/BHA ingredient products* You may also use this as an overnight spot treatment too.
This is recommended for almost all skin type such as, oily, combination, and normal. If you have sensitive skin I suggest leaving it on for 5-8 mins depending on your pain threshold.
