Cleansers come in various forms and structure. Having a good organic oil cleanser in your skin care routine is beneficial to removing debris from the skin. I’m sure you’ve heard the term cleaning oils, or oil cleansing. Technically, they’re both the same thing. The two words are a little terrifying, I’m sure – oil and cleanse. We learn in grade school science class that oil and water does not mix; instead it separates. They are polar opposites. It’s not really applicable in skincare. You need a little water on the skin to allow the skin to be lubricated or the oil to glide on the skin. Continue reading as I have something exciting for you!
A Toronto based natural skin care company with all handmade products. They keep their formulation simple. They list all natural ingredients on their labels and provide a product guide on the shelf life for each of their products. I was gifted this 100% organic oil cleanser along with other products from Laura at Wildcraft. What I love most about the brand is it’s simplicity approach. The packaging, logo, and the ingredients. Everything is just streamlined. Once I tested the products I could tell right away that the ingredients are 100% natural based on how it operates on my skin. That’s a good thing! I found it to be highly effective. When switching to using natural products it will take some time for your skin to adjust. It’s always recommended to do a patch test and slowly introduce one new product at a time in your skin care regimen.
It’s a fact that oil breaks down oil. They are both non-polar solvents, so they dissolve each other. A formulated oil based cleanser helps to dissolve the bad oils in the skin while balancing the good oils. This method is gentle and effective. It nourishes and hydrates the skin without stripping it. Typically, it’s used as the first step in your skin care routine to effectively remove impurities and unclog pores . It works either as a cleanser or a makeup remover (pre-cleanse). Here are two ways to apply and use an oil cleanser.
Since this cleanser is 100% oil based it does not dilute or get milky when mixed with water. When removing it you need to wipe it off with a damp wet cloth. Applying a moisturizer after is completely optional. Although it is double the hydration for those who suffer from dry skin. Otherwise, it boosts Feel the hydrated and suppleness in your skin.
The essential oil ingredients in the Wildcraft oil cleanser are: Marshmallow root extract, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, Flax oil, lavender, frankincense, tea tree, and rosemary leaf extract. Not only does it smell heavenly, it contains anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties to detoxify the skin. They also helps to moisturize and relieve dryness in the skin.
Wildcraft oil cleanser can be used for all skin types. However, it’s always best to do a patch test and/or review the ingredients to ensure you’re not allergic to any of the oil or extracts. My recommendation for oily skin is to use you one pump, which would be a dime size, or use it as a pre-cleanse before your cleanser. If you begin to experience any form of breakout on the skin this could be due to your skin going through a detoxification process. Discontinue use in your experience any further skin issues past 1 week.
Whether you’re skin care obsessed, or just an everyday person wanting to maintain their skin, an oil cleanser should be in your line up of skincare products along with an exfoliant and a moisturizer.
