THE MANY USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF ESSENTIAL OILS: SAJE WELLNESS REVIEW
The use of essential oils has been an ancient tradition that has become more prevalent in practice amongst the western culture. Ideally the many uses and health benefits of essential oils serves the same purpose now as it did then; which is to provide a form of healing therapy.
I love the smell of essential oils. It provides a sensory experience if you use it in your home, also it evokes a memory of being in a spa where you can relax and unwind. The aroma of certain oils provides unique health benefits and can be used for multi-purposes. Some you can inhale, use for a massage, add to regular skin care, hair, add to your bath, or add it to drinking water. These are a few reasons why essential oils appeal to me.
Whenever I go into the mall, I always find myself going into a skincare, beauty, or wellness shop. I seem to get drawn into the Saje Natural Wellness store due to the rich essential oils aroma that infuses the air when you walk by. After months of in and out visits to the store, I finally purchased my first pocket farmacy along with a diffuser. I will provide an update on the diffuser once I’ve used it a few more times.
ABOUT POCKET FARMACY AND THE ESSENTIAL OILS
Let’s talk about the name “pocket farmacy”. It basically means you can travel with a 100% natural pharmacy in your pocket to remedy any mild ailments. It’s quite clever. I’ve been using the pocket farmacy kit for 3 weeks. I love the convenient carry case it comes with which is made from a recycled water bottle. How neat is that. You can take it with you for use whenever you’re in need. Also, the bottles have two unique ways for you to retrieve the oils. The top end has a roller and the bottom end has open or close option for you to put as many drops in your hand for pressing.
There are 5 essential oils that come in the kit along with a booklet with instructions on how to use the oils. They include:
Peppermint halo is one of Saje’s best selling essential oils. I guess because a high percentage of the population suffers from headaches, shoulder and muscle tension. My regular go to has been the pain release, stress release, and the peppermint halo,
HOW TO USE THE ESSENTIAL OILS AND MY FAVOURITES
Pain Release Oil
Lately I’ve been having knee pain from driving. I’m almost running low on this oil from the overuse. The pain release can be used just about everywhere on your body that you’re experiencing pain: shoulders, neck, back, elbows, and hips to name a few place. The top ingredients are lavender oil, marjoram oil, and rosemary oil. All of which soothe and provides anti-inflammatory benefits to help relieve tension and stiffness. When I use it, it’s usually on one of knees and my lower back. I can’t get enough of it.
Stress Release Oil
I use the stress release before bed because it really helps me to wind down from my day, where my mind is constantly on the go. The top 3 ingredients in the stress release are: lavender, orange oil, and chamomile oil. These oils help to soothe, calm, and uplift your mood. All of what you need after a long day, especially if it’s stressful. I apply it to the back of my ears, my forehead and temples, as well as under my nose. The booklet states that you can add it to the soles of your feet and palms, of your hands if necessary.
The only time that I use the peppermint oil is throughout the day when I feel a little tension in my shoulders and neck from working. It really does help to relieve some of the muscle ache during the day. This prevents me from focusing on the pain so I can get on with my day and work. Top three ingredients are peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil and rosemary oil, all which provides a refreshing, uplifting, and cooling sensation to penetrate the muscles and relieve pain. If you suffer from headaches, it can be used on the scalp and along the hairline. Please note that if you have any allergies to certain oils or are pregnant you should consult with a doctor first before using these.
If your suffer from a mild condition of anxiety, muscle aches, headaches, digestion issues, or a weak immune system, essential oils are a natural alternative. Not only do they smell great, they provide many healing benefits.
